The fixing method involves welding the end piece halves (41,42) together with a wedge (6) inside the intermediate space with a joining weld. The wedge is inserted into the gap between the end piece halves so that the intermediate space is maintained between the end piece halves. The end piece halves have a width adapted to the width of the intermediate fitting gap. - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a fixing arrangement.
