When determining changes in position of open-end spinning machine spinning rotor, the position of the spinning rotor (1) is monitored by a system of sensors (A, B) and based on the spinning rotor (1) changes so determined, the control of the active magnetic bearing is adjusted in order to avoid undesired changes in position of the spinning rotor (1) within the cavity of the active magnetic bearing. There is continuously determined not only the radial shift of the spinning rotor (1), but also the spinning rotor (1) incline. The so determined changes in position of the spinning rotor (1) serve for shifting and/or incline of the spinning rotor (1) for subsequent adjustment of position of the spinning rotor (1) control within the active magnetic bearing. A spinning unit provided with an active magnetic bearing comprises means for generation and control of magnetic field in which the spinning rotor (1) is arranged. The bearing further comprises position sensors (A, B) ) of the spinning rotor (1), which are coupled with detectors (D) of their output signals and with evaluation circuits (VO) wherein the evaluation circuits (VO) are connected to the control system of the active magnetic bearing. The position sensors (A, B) ) of the spinning rotor (1) are grouped in pairs whereby two sensor pairs (A, A1, A2) for determining radial shift of the spinning rotor (1) are arranged on opposite sides of the spinning rotor (1) counter the spinning rotor (1) cylindrical wall (10). At the same time, the two sensor pairs (B, B1, B2) for determining incline of the spinning rotor (1) are arranged on opposite sides of the spinning rotor (1) counter the spinning rotor (1) wall (11), which is perpendicular to the spinning rotor (1) axis of rotation (OA). |
