<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a decrease in a charge amount of toner in a developing device in a high-humidity environment to prevent scattering of toner from the developing device in an image forming apparatus employing so-called a rotary developing system. <P>SOLUTION: When a main power source of an apparatus body is turned off, or a series of image formation is completed, power supply to a solenoid S is stopped and a cam plate 61 is rotated counter-clockwise around a shaft 62. Contact of a contact part 53 of a lever member 51 with an outer edge of the cam plate 61 is then released. The lever member 51 is moved in a direction toward a rotary rack 10 by urging force of a twisted coil spring 54.
