The present invention relates to a remote controller for a smart-TV in a hybrid character input manner based on a virtual keyboard, and a computer-readable recording medium using the same which records a character input program on the smart-TV. More specifically, the present invention relates to a remote controller technology for a smart-TV in the hybrid character input manner based on the virtual keyboard having achieved of speed improvement by performing character input to enable a user to utilize various functions including a browser on the smart TV, by classifying character keys into a key configured to be used as a hardware key on the remote controller and a key to be processed on the virtual keyboard in accordance with dependence attribute of a character set; and by using a four-way tracker which is limited of the degree of freedom for a navigation in the virtual keyboard.
