The objective of the present invention is to provide a method of preparing functional grain syrup containing medicinal herb extracts which has health promoting effects by mixing medicinal herb extracts during the preparation process of grain syrup. A solution given in the present invention is to prepare grain syrup by mixing barley malt and medicinal herb extracts to steamed rice (hard-steamed rice) which is prepared by steaming soaked rice using water containing medicinal herb extracts, saccharifying the mixture, and heating and concentrating the filtered saccharified solution. The medicinal herb extracts are acquired by heating cinnamon, dried ginger, dried orange peel, pinellia, snake gourd seeds, akane, mume fruit, dendropanax morbifera leaves, black pepper, and arisaema in boiling water. According to the present invention, the grain syrup manufactured by the method of preparing functional grain syrup containing medicinal herb extracts can be used as a sweetener instead of sugar or honey in cooking. In addition, as the medicinal herb extracts have various medicinal effects such as alleviation of fever, discharge of phlegm, and prevention of cold, the grain syrup can be used for medicinal herb tea or as a sweetener as wellbeing healthy food fit for long-term drinking. |
