The building member 100 for arranging on top of a structure includes a plurality of building elements 201 which comprise a recess therein or therebetween, wherein the member is water resistant and has a protrusion 120 for entering the recess. The member may be a coping stone with a planar lower surface, and formed of a composite natural stone derived material. The protrusion may be frusto-conical and of the same material as the member. There may be a plurality of protrusions in a line for entering multiple recesses in multiple building elements. The structure may comprise a building material such as damp proof coursing 300 arranged beneath the building member and comprising a protrusion 320 for entering the recess, the protrusion comprising a hollow for receiving the protrusion of the building member and any binder.
