PURPOSE: A method for dividing a mother substrate is provided to determine the accurate position of scribe lines by moving the scribe lines to a specific direction at a predetermined pitch, thereby performing accurate brake. CONSTITUTION: A method for dividing a mother substrate is as follows. Scribe lines(S1, S2) are formed of a brittle material substrate by using a laser scribe. In a brake process, the substrate is braked along the scribe lines. In a scribe process, the scribe lines are formed at a predetermined pitch. The brake process moves one scribe line at the predetermined pitch, and determines the position of a brake unit along the other brake line to brake the substrate. |
