PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high reliable power-supply apparatus for preventing degradation of a storage unit due to overvoltage and obtaining a stable output. SOLUTION: The power-supply apparatus includes a power supply to output an electric power, a voltage converter to convert the output voltage of the power supply to a desired voltage, a storage unit connected in parallel to the voltage converter to charge the output of the voltage converter and discharge it to the load, and a switch to open and close an electric passage to the load and the storage unit from the voltage converter. The switch is opened on initiating the power-supply apparatus, and the output voltage of the voltage converter is set on the basis of the output voltage of the storage unit. The switch is controlled to change from an open state to a close state when a potential difference between the output of the storage unit and that of the voltage converter reaches a level within an allowable value.
