[Class 131] In a dry-shaver the amount of penetration of the skin to be shaved into the apertures in the cutting plate is adjustable to suit skins of different elasticities and of different densities of hair growth by alteration of the size of the aperture and/or the thickness of the cutting plate surrounding the aperture. Adjustments are described for dry shavers having reciprocating, rotating or oscillating cutting members. As shown in Fig. 1 the apertured cutting plate 2 is provided with an apertured cap 4 which is removable to increase the amount by which the skin 5 penetrates into the apertures 1. In Fig. 6 the size of the apertures 1 is decreased by screwing the nut 19 to compress the rubber washers 18a. Further modifications describe similar adjustments in circular cutting plates.
