Mechanical writing instrument

The instrument (1) has a push rod (9) acting on a writing element (7) via wheels (14, 16), and moving the writing element from an inactive position to an active position in response to a predefined action of a user. An elastic element i.e. spring, stores mechanical energy, and is kinematically connected to the writing element through the wheels. The rod allows the elastic element to partially release the mechanical energy to the wheels in response to the predefined action for causing the movement of the writing element from the inactive position to the active position. The writing element is in the form of a mechanical pencil tip, felt-pen tip, ball-point pen tip or fountain pen tip.
