The gas burner 40 has a cylindrical distributor (44, figure 6) surrounding an internal cavity and a cylindrical flame strip 42 coaxially surrounding the distributor. Preferably the burner is a premix gas burner whereby the internal cavity receives a gas and air mixture for combustion in use. A mounting flange 46 is provided at one end of the cavity and is mechanically mounted to the distributor and flame strip. The distributor and flame strip include respective through holes 58 and openings 52 provided in respective walls 60 and 50. Preferably, an end part 64 of the distributor wall turns outwardly with respect to an axis of the cylindrical distributor wall and an end part 54 of the flame strip wall turns inwardly, overlapping the distributor end part. The end parts ideally include circumferential slots (56, figure 8),66 that align with one another when the end parts overlap to receive circumferential projections 76 of the mounting flange. Ideally the projections are received in alternate aligned slots and then deformed with a tool to provide the mechanical mounting. |
