[Also in Group VIII] A statistical record card has manually removable portions 14 at some of the index point positions, and pre-punched holes 17 in these portions to facilitate their removal. The portions may be of rectangular or, as shown, of oval form, and are defined by cuts 15 separated by webs 16; the holes 17 are centrally disposed so as to apply equal pressure to the webs when a pointed instrument, e.g. a pencil, is inserted therein. The portions are of larger area than the usual card-sensing pins to prevent accidental perforation of the card during sensing. Specification 555,498, (Group VIII], is referred to.</p> |
