The filling-tube 3 of an accumulator is closed by a stopper 10 which is pressed downwards by a rubber or other resilient washer 13 surrounding a fixed pin 11 about which the stopper can be rotated. The pin 11 carries a fixed nut 14 and washer 15 or other abutment against which the washer 13 presses. The stopper is fitted with a resilient pad 24 which closes a gas vent 18 when the stopper is rotated to open the filling tube. A vent 25 may also be provided in the stopper. |
