The present invention relates to a power generating apparatus using waves and, more particularly, to a power generating apparatus which can generate power using waves when a floating unit is shaken to the left and right by the waves. The power generating apparatus using waves according to the present invention includes a floating unit, a rotating blade and a power generating unit. The floating unit is floated on the water such that the floating unit can be shaken to the left and right by waves. The rotating blade is immersed in the water and coupled to the floating unit to rotate by the water flow. The power generating unit generates power as the rotating blade is rotated. In the power generating apparatus, the floating unit includes a first receiving part. In this case, the power generating apparatus further includes a movable member, which is received in the first receiving part and freely moves in the inclination direction when the floating unit is inclined to the left or right such that the floating unit can be more inclined. As the power generating apparatus is installed in the sea, the floating unit is inclined to the left and right whenever the waves are applied thereto. Thus, the rotating blade coupled to the floating unit can generate power. That is, electricity can be generated whenever the waves are generated so that the energy can be continuously produced. |
