The invention relates to a cable tap device, 70, for a Cable TV (CATV) network comprising a microstrip directional coupler, 72, connected between input, 16, and output terminals, 16, 18. The coupled port of the microstrip directional coupler is connected to a splitter device, 34, with a plurality of tap ports 44, 46, 48, 50. The device may further include a tilt compensating circuit, 80, connected between the microstrip directional coupler and the splitter device. A feedback path, 81, comprising resistive, inductive and capacitive elements may connect the isolated port, 76, of the microstrip directional coupler to the input port of the microstrip directional coupler. The inductive element in the feedback path may comprise a 180 degree transformer, 84, connected to an inductor, 86. The feedback path may further include a restive element, 82, connected between the isolated port and the transformer and a capacitive element, 88, connected between the transformer and input port of the microstrip directional coupler. |
