<p>A profiled element is made of plastic material and is particularly suitable for casements or other glazing carriers or window frames. The element includes at least one exterior chamber 7b, 11b filled by a flowable medium, such as ambient air. The element also includes at least one interior chamber 7a, 7c, 11a, 11c, which may be filled by an insulating foam, such as polyurethane foam 8. The external chamber may also include vent openings, while the interior chamber may also include a reinforcement element 9, 12. A casement 1 and window frame 5 incorporating the profiled element are also provided. The exterior chamber has different thermal characteristics to the internal chambers to alleviate the higher incidence of solar radiation.</p> |
