The invention relates to a method for migrating VHBB services from ADSL/2/2+ technique to VDSL2 technique, in which ADSL/2/2+ modem, connected to VDSL2 port in BC mode, is replaced with VDSL2 modem. The server which monitors identification parameters verifies the type of modem and changes the operating mode of VDSL2 port by leaving Backward Compatibility mode.
