[Class 97 (ii)] The material, e.g. rubber, is fed in through an opening 3 and passes along channels 13, formed in the surface of a cone 1, to a mouthpiece 8 where the rubber is applied to a wire passing through a tube 6. The cone 1 fits in a complementary recess in the nozzle 2. At the apex of the cone the channels widen out peripherally, and a radial constriction 15 is formed on the cone in the middle of the widening whereby each channel 13 is subdivided into two channels 14. A knife edge 12 is disposed opposite the opening 3. A vulcanizing tube 11 is connected to the nozzle. The nozzle is steam-heated at 4.
