1. A method comprising:
providing a program guide, the program guide containing a plurality of channels, each channel including a start time and end time for the display of at least one program; providing a first program for display at the start time; determining if the first program has been paused during the display of the first program; adjusting the end time for the display of the first program if the program has been paused; determining if the pause is to be applied to each of the plurality of channels; adjusting the end time for at least one program on each of the plurality of channels if the pause is to be applied to each of the plurality of channels; and providing an updated program guide containing the one or more adjusted end times.
