A carbon nanotube film, the carbon nanotube film being a pure carbon nanotube structure, free of polymer, and comprising: a plurality of carbon nanotube strings separately arranged, located side by side and substantially extending along a first direction, wherein each of the plurality of carbon nanotube strings comprises a plurality of first carbon nanotubes joined end-to-end and is substantially aligned along the first direction; and a plurality of second carbon nanotubes located between and contact with adjacent of the plurality of carbon nanotube strings to form the pure carbon nanotube structure, wherein the plurality of second carbon nanotubes are dispersed disorderly, joined neither end to end nor side by side, and have different extending directions, an angle between the extending directions of the plurality of second carbon nanotubes and the first direction is greater than 0 degrees and less than 90 degrees and a mass ratio between the plurality of second carbon nanotubes and the carbon nanotube film is in a range from about 14% to about 33% so that the pure carbon nanotube structure is capable of about 300% elastic deformation along a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the first direction.
