The present invention relates to the use of a 2,5-dihydroxybenzene derivative represented by Formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, solvate, isomer, or prodrug thereof for the therapeutic and/or prophylactic treatment of, inter alia, dermatitis.

A method for the treatment or prophylaxis of dermatitis, comprising administering topically to a subject in need thereof, an effective amount of a compound selected from one or more of 2-(acetyloxy)-5-hydroxybenzenesulfonic acid; 5-(acetyloxy)-2-hydroxybenzenesulfonic acid, and 2,5-bis(acetyloxy)benzenesulfonic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, or solvate thereof.
