PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulator capable of sufficiently insulating sound that should be insulated.SOLUTION: A sound insulator comprises: a supporting member 11 which partitions a plurality of cells 15 disposed in a surface direction Q intersecting with an axis direction J, and each of which has both ends in the axis direction J being opening ends; and sound absorbing parts 13 that are provided so as to fill parts of the plurality of cells 15 and that are formed of a material having an acoustic impedance different from air. The sound absorbing parts 13 are disposed so as to form recessed-portion-like spaces 17 each partitioned by inner surfaces 15a of the cell 15 that are positioned on a side from which the acoustic energy of sound that should be insulated enters, and by a first end surface 13a of the sound absorbing part 13 disposed in the cell 15. |
