<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for hydrolyzing organochlorosilanes, which is more economical and effective in heat transfer and also is significantly easier to control.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for hydrolyzing organochlorosilanes which comprises reacting organochlorosilanes with water in a tube bundle reactor to form a crude hydrolyzate containing polyorganosiloxane and hydrogen chloride. In the method, heat transfer in the tube bundle reactor is effected through a heat transfer medium which is passed around tubes in the tube bundle reactor. Water is used in a form of saturated hydrochloric acid at reaction temperature of 20 to 150°C and at reaction pressure of 0.5 bar to 10 bar. Residence time of a raw material and reactant in the reactor is in the range from 0.5 sec to 15 min.</p> |
