PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception device and reception method for implementing an excellent transmission characteristic while suppressing an operation amount. ! SOLUTION: A reception device for performing MIMO communication using frequency shift keying performs frequency domain equalization on a discrete time signal obtained by sampling signals received by reception antenna units 201-1 to 201-nR; and calculates a first temporary determination value from a signal after the equalization. The reception device comprises: an ISI removal unit which generates a replica of inter symbol interference by using the first temporary determination value, and subtracts the replica of inter symbol interference from the discrete time signal; and a maximum likelihood detection unit which performs maximum likelihood detection on an output signal of the ISI removal unit. !
