PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a focus detection process in a scanning range suitable for an interchangeable lens upon underwater photographing. ! SOLUTION: An interchangeable lens 200 comprises: an image-formation optical system 210; mount means 201 to which a camera body 100 is detachably attached; storage means 215 in which, in a focus detection process of an image-formation optical system to be performed upon underwater photographing, scanning range data indicative of a scanning range for searching for a focus position is stored ; and communication means 203 and 217 for transmitting the scanning range data to the camera body. !
