PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivation method capable of stably providing medicinal plants as herbal medicine ingredients, for use as alternatives to imports.SOLUTION: In the method, seedlings of medicinal plants are planted in a sand culture medium with a pH of 6.5-10 and grown in the sand culture medium. The electric conductivity (EC) of the sand culture medium is preferably 0.05 mS/cm or less. The average grain diameter of the sand in the sand culture medium is preferably 0.07-2.0 mm. The method is particularly suitable to cultivation of Ephedra herb, Geranium herb and Pinellia ternata and enables faster growth and a stable yield than conventional outdoor cultivation. |
