PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of efficiently discriminating the main cause of an error.SOLUTION: A scanner device 1 (image reading apparatus) comprises: an information storage unit 35 which stores, in association, error information relating to an error caused by a past scanning operation and operator information relating to an operator who has caused the error; and an error analysis unit 38 which determines whether or not an error caused by a scanning operation performed by a specific operator is an error mainly caused by the operator on the basis of the error information and operator information stored in the information storage unit 35.
