<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle approach notification device that can prevent notification sound from changing to noise due to echo by a shield.SOLUTION: A vehicle approach notification device, when speed of a vehicle is equal to a predetermined vehicle speed or lower, outputs notification sound from a notification speaker to notify approaching of the vehicle to the outside of the vehicle. A volume of the notification sound is set to a notification sound volume V unless a shield exists, and set to a volume reduced at a predetermined ratio from the notification sound volume V if the shield exists. For instance, when a fence or a wall exist only on one side in the travelling direction of the vehicle, the sound volume is reduced by 25%, and when the fence or the wall exist on both sides, reduced by 50%. When the shield has a ceiling, the volume is reduced by another 25%. Further, if a height of the shield is equal to a predetermined height or more, the volume is reduced by another 10%. On the other hand, even though the shield exists, the notification sound is outputted with the notification sound volume V without reducing the notification sound volume, when distance between the vehicle and the shield is equal to a predetermined distance or more or when an interval between the side of the vehicle and the shield is equal to a predetermined interval or more.</p> |
