PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a heat sink in which excellent heat dissipation performance can be maintained while reducing the cost and the weight, and to provide a heat sink.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a heat sink includes an extrusion step for forming a planar member by extrusion molding, and a forging step for integrally molding a pin-shaped fin 2 standing from the planar member 1 by pressing a portion of the planar member in the thickness direction following to the extrusion step. In the extrusion step, a thick portion 17 is formed at a part of the planar member from which the pin-shaped fin 2 is standing, and the pin-shaped fin 2 is formed by pressing the thick portion 17 while suppressing material flow in the surface direction between the thick portion 17 and the periphery thereof by pressing around the thick portion 17 at least partially in the thickness direction in the forging step. |
