PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quantitatively and accurately evaluate perception rate of a rear side vehicle directly viewed by a driver. ! SOLUTION: On a range of a rear side vehicle viewed through a back of a side window glass of a planning vehicle, amount of visual information is calculated based on background luminance, a discrimination luminance ratio according to the background luminance, and the surface luminance of a rear side vehicle.
