An image application unit (100) for use with liquid toner, suitable for transferring an image to a drum (160) rotating around a vertical axis or a printing substrate (199) guided by such a drum (160), said image application unit (100) comprising:
- a liquid toner dosing assembly (110);
- an imaging member (140) sustaining a pattern of electric charge forming a latent image on its surface, and arranged to transfer it after development to said drum (160) or said substrate (199); and
- a development member (130) arranged to receive liquid toner (100) from said dosing assembly (110), and to develop said latent image by transferring a portion of said liquid toner onto said imaging member (140) in accordance with said pattern;
said liquid toner dosing assembly (110) being adapted for vertical use; and said development member (130) and said imaging member (140) being configured for rotation around vertical axes. |
