PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that can prevent an edge of a display screen from being significantly darkly displayed even when the number of light sources is cut down to make a distance between the light source closest to an edge of an optical member and the edge of the optical member larger.SOLUTION: The liquid crystal television device (a display device) 100 comprises: a plurality of light sources 7 that irradiates a display section 1 with light; a diffusion plate 11 that is arranged between the display section 1 and the light source 7; a rear frame 4 that supports the light source 7 and the diffusion plate 11 from a rear side; and a reflection sheet 10 that is arranged on a surface of the rear frame 4, and reflects the light from the light source 7 onto a display section 1 side. Of emerging light emerged onto the display section 1 side from an edge side light source 7a arranged closest to an edge 4a of the rear frame 4 of the plurality of light sources 7, the emanating light emerged at luminance equal to or more than a half of maximum luminance and less than the maximum luminance is configured so as to arrive at an edge 11a of the diffusion plate 11 corresponding to the edge 4a of the rear frame 4. |
