PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long life hard film coated WC based hard alloy member having improved adhesion of the hard film without forming decarburization phase and a method for producing the same. ! SOLUTION: A hard film coated WC based hard alloy member having a first hard film containing at least Ti is formed on the WC based hard alloy member via a modified phase having bcc structure and a second hard film containing at least Cr formed directly on the first hard film, in which the modified phase has a metal composition shown in following general formula: W100-x-yMxCoy (mass%) except for inevitable contaminants [M represents at least one element chosen from a group consisting of Cr, V, Ni, Fe and Mn, in which Cr is indispensable and 70 mass% or more of whole M element, and (100-x-y), x and y representing contents (mass%) of W, M element and Co, respectively are numbers fulfilling conditions as follows: 80≤100-x-y≤95, 5≤x≤20 and 0.1≤y≤3]. !
