PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a nano-wire-provided fine particle in which nano wires are formed on the surface.SOLUTION: A method of producing a nano-wire-provided fine particle 10 comprises preparing e.g. a metal fine particle 1 composed of copper and heat-treating the metal fine particle 1 in such a concentration of oxygen that the metal of the metal fine particle 1 is oxidized in order to form an oxide layer 2 on the surface of the metal fine particle 1. Since the heat expansion coefficient of the oxide is smaller than the heat expansion coefficient of the metal, in heat-treating the metal fine particle 1, the metal constituting the core part 3 of the metal fine particle 1 expands more than the oxide layer 2 to break through the oxide layer 2 and forms nano wires 5 protruding from the surface of the oxide layer 2.
