PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimmer filter that can reduce the degree of discontinuity of light transmittance on the boundary between a part combining partitioning walls and two light transmittance varying layers in contact with the partitioning walls and portions located within the partitioning walls of the two light transmittance varying layers and the rest of the light transmittance varying layers.SOLUTION: A dimmer filter 16 that reduces the luminous energy of incident light of a prescribed wavelength band comprises a pair of transparent base plates 20a and 20b transparent with respect to light of the prescribed wavelength band, a plurality of partitioning walls 22b for separating the gap between the pair of transparent base plates 20a and 20b into a plurality of regions, a spacer 22 arranged in the gap, and a liquid crystal layer 24 whose light transmittance varies within a prescribed range with variations in voltage. Each of the plurality of partitioning walls 22b is formed in wavy shape. |
