PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To essentially achieve a quick automatic return from a direct mode to an automatic shift mode without imparting discomfort to a driver and causing deterioration of operability during run in a high speed.SOLUTION: It is determined whether or not a direct mode in which shifting is manually performed temporarily is executed by operation of a shift switch (step S1). In the case in which the direct mode is executed, when a predetermined time Tpasses after a return request condition of requesting automatic return from the direct mode to an automatic shift mode is satisfied, the direct mode is automatically returned to the automatic shift mode (step S9). But when a vehicle runs at a predetermined speed Va or more, the automatic return from the direct mode to the automatic shift mode is prohibited (step S8). |
