DEVICE AND METHOD FOR REMOVING AMMONIA FOR ABSORPTION TYPE WATER CHILLER/HEATER AND ABSORPTION TYPE REFRIGERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for removing ammonia that can efficiently remove ammonia without causing decline in a refrigerant amount during operation of an absorption type water chiller/heater and an absorption type refrigerator.SOLUTION: A device 13 for removing ammonia that is attached to an absorption type water chiller/heater 1 maintained in a vacuum state is configured so that: steam 4 with a high ammonia concentration that is extracted from a valve 9 installed in a flow passage between a regenerator 7 and a condenser 8 is dehumidified by using a dehumidifier 16 in a decompression condition to separate ammonia gas 19 and a refrigerant 10 included in the steam 4; the separated refrigerant 10 is stored in a container 17; by using a stored refrigerant return pump 18, the stored refrigerant 10 is sucked and is discharged within a refrigerant pump 11 via a refrigerant pump discharge valve 12 installed in the refrigerant pump 11 to return the refrigerant 10 to inside of an evaporator 3; and a vacuum pump 14 vacuums the ammonia gas 19 from inside of the dehumidifier 16 and inside of the container 17 via vacuum valves 15 installed in the dehumidifier 16 and the container 17 to emit the ammonia 19 to outside air.
