Disclosed is a method of saving data when an ignition key is off. According to the present invention, when the ignition key is off, an engine control unit determines whether the ignition key is turned to an ON state before the ignition key is completely off while the data stored in a RAM memory moves to a non-volatile memory and then is storing therein. If the ignition key is turned to the ON state before the ignition key is completely off, it is determined whether the data stored in the RAM memory is set to engine driving modeling data, or whether the data stored in the non-volatile memory in the previous engine driving cycle is set to modeling data, according to the satisfaction with the data sustaining condition set in advance. Therefore, even though the ignition key is turned to the ON state while the data stored in the RAM memory is moving to the non-voltage memory, the final data on the vehicle driving can be safely stored, and the stored final data can be utilized as the modeling data to apply the stored final data to the subsequent engine driving cycle. |
