PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying device that is configured to improve efficiency of drying, while achieving space-saving thereof.SOLUTION: A drying device is the drying device of a long belt-shaped base material applied with a liquid material in which a solid content is dissolved or dispersed in a solvent. The drying device includes: a heating roller for transporting the base material along a transport path on an outer circumferential surface by rotating the base material wound on the outer circumferential surface while heating the material; a cover member provided with a concave surface curved along the outer circumferential surface of the heating roller, and disposed so that a consecutive flow path space is formed along the transport path between the concave surface and the outer circumferential surface of the heating roller; and a vapor stream disturbance part provided in the flow path space, and configured such that the vapor generated from the liquid material on the base material disturbs the vapor stream flowing through the flow path space along the transport path in the flow path space by the base material transported by the heating roller while being heated.
