PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine, capable of preventing the collision of a lock member during the rock of a cam lobe part.SOLUTION: A variable valve gear 1A includes a cam base part 10A, a cam lobe part 20A having a hole 26A extending in the axial direction of a cam shaft S, and connected to the cam base part 10A so as to rock and transit between a lifted state and a lift stopped state, a lock mechanism having a pin 26P held in the hole 26A for locking the cam lobe part 20A in the lifted state and the lift stopped state, a spring 34S for energizing the cam lobe part 20A into the lifted state, and a restricting part for restricting the arrangement of the pin 26P in the hole 26A in the axial direction. The restricting part is constituted by a hole 21, a ball 22, a spring 22S and a groove part D. |
