PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elastic material that can be inexpensively and easily produced and that has wide usage, and a method of manufacturing the same. ! SOLUTION: In an elastic material (1), two slots 5 are drilled in parallel with opposed surfaces of an approximately rectangular cross-section wooden prism 1 with a predetermined length, within the prism 1. In an elastic material (2), a wooden thin plate 3 is stuck via a sheet almost throughout opposed surfaces 2 where the slot 5 is not formed.
