PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for supporting an optical waveguide circuit, capable of suppressing interference with a fiber array connected to the optical waveguide circuit, and an optical module including the substrate.SOLUTION: An electrode substrate 20 has an optical waveguide supporting surface 25 for supporting an optical waveguide circuit 10 on a part of the surface of the electrode substrate, and a notch part 21 at a position corresponding to a connecting portion of the optical waveguide circuit 10 with a fiber array 30. A first surface 22 of the notch part is contacted or spaced with an end surface 31 of the fiber array, and a second surface 23 of the notch part is spaced with a side surface 32 of the fiber array. Therefore, when the fiber array is connected with the optical waveguide circuit, the electrode substrate can suppress interference with the fiber array. |
