PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of shortening a focusing time in a plurality of range-finding areas in an imaging device having imaging means capable of detecting a phase difference.SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: imaging means; first focus detection means for performing focus detection of a phase difference system of detecting the deviation value of a pair of subject images obtained from an output signal output by the imaging means; second focus detection means for performing focus detection of a contrast system of detecting the contrast information of the subject images obtained from the output signal output by the imaging means; contrast information generation means for generating the contrast information of a plurality of range-finding areas subjected to focus detection by the second focus detection means; and area determination means for determining the range-finding area targeted for focus detection by the first focus detection means on the basis of the contrast information. |
