PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulverized coal burner capable of improving stability of ignition at starting and stability of flames formed in a furnace in normal operation.SOLUTION: A pulverized coal burner includes: a nozzle body 6 including an outer tube nozzle 8 opened to a furnace 2 and configured to jet a pulverized coal mixed flow 15 obtained by mixing pulverized coal and carrying air while rotating the mixed flow and an inner tube nozzle 9 formed inside the outer tube nozzle concentrically with the outer tube nozzle to jet auxiliary combustion air 23; a secondary air adjustment device 7 for jetting combustion air 19 from the periphery of the nozzle body; and a plasma torch 17 for jetting plasma. A retention part for increasing a pulverized coal concentration is formed on an inner surface of the outer tube nozzle and the plasma torch is arranged so as to jet plasma to the pulverized coal mixed flow jetted from the retention part. |
