PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve gear for an engine, having improved mountability on the engine while suppressing the occurrence of noises and the breakage of members.SOLUTION: The valve gear for the engine includes a cam shaft 8 to be rotated in conjunction with a crank shaft of the engine, cam elements 10 externally fitted onto the cam shaft 8 movably in the axial direction and rotated integrally with the cam shaft 8, and each including a plurality of cams 6A, 6B provided in a connected row arrangement along the axial direction of the crank shaft and having cam profiles different from each other, a bearing part 30 arranged on the side where the cam elements 10 approach each other during changeover from one of the cams 6A, 6B to the other, and a collision relaxing mechanism 60 for relaxing collision between the cam element 10 and the bearing part 30 during changeover from one of the cams 6A, 6B to the other. |
