PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shift operation instruction device capable of instructing a gear shift operation at an appropriate timing without frequently repeating the instruction.SOLUTION: Provided is a gear shift operation instruction device, in which: a brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) on up-shifting (γ+1) is estimated when a gear is up-shifted from a present gear γ by one toward the higher gear (γ+1); a BSFC on down-shifting (γ-1) is estimated when the gear is down-shifted from the present gear by one toward the lower gear (γ-1); the above values are corrected by respectively multiplying by different coefficients k1 and k2; and the up-shifting is instructed when the BSFC on up-shifting (γ+1) becomes less than an actual BSFC (γ), and the down-shifting is instructed when the BSFC on down-shifting (γ-1) becomes less than the actual BSFC (γ). |
