摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper for railway vehicle which has simple and compact structure, smoothly buffers shocks from minor shock to large shock and quickly returns to a neutral position when the shock disappears.SOLUTION: A pulling side unit (P) and a compression side unit (P') are composed of rubber pad assemblies (G, G') and piston cylinder assemblies (S, S') provided concentrically inside the rubber pad assemblies, and those units are built in a damper frame (2). The units (P, P') are mounted on draft lugs (16, 16) on a vehicle side while the units (P, P') are each compressed by 10 mm (prescribed amountδ). The inside of the cylinder is divided into a pressure chamber which is pressurized by a piston head when being buffered and a negative pressure chamber at a counter side, and those chambers are always communicated with each other by a clearance between the inner peripheral face of a cylinder (20) and the outer peripheral face of a piston head (26) and also are communicated by communication holes (29, 29) provided with a check valve which inhibits the flow from the pressure chamber (21) to the negative pressure chamber (22) and allows that to the inverse direction.</p>
