PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a reflection type display device which does not cause display unevenness and display failures, when local pressure is applied from the outside, while securing the numerical aperture of a cell.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the reflection type display device in which a display medium containing at least one or more kinds of electrically responsive materials is packed between two opposing substrates at least one of which is transparent and where electrodes are formed respectively includes a partition forming process for forming a partition in a predetermined pattern on one substrate of the two substrates; and an adhesion layer forming process for forming an adhesion layer by adhering an adhesive to the top surface of the partition. In the adhesion layer forming process, the adhesive is adhered to the top surface of the partition from below in such a state that the partition is directed so that the end of the partition on the side of the one substrate is located higher than the top surface of the partition on the side opposite to the one substrate.
