The present invention relates to a light emitting diode and a method of manufacturing the same and, more specifically, to the formation of a dual window layer with a relatively large band gap, a low refractive index, and a low resistance on the top of the light emitting diode in order to improve the luminous efficiency of the light emitting diode. The light emitting diode of the present invention is configured to develop the dual window layer consisting of a lower window layer of a relatively high refractive index on the top of a restricting layer, and an upper window layer of a relatively low refractive index. The dual window layer is to increase the light emission efficiency by reducing the light reflectance emitted again from an active layer of the light emitting diode to the internal on a surface. |
