The carrier (1) has a safety element (3) provided inside a substrate forming the carrier. The element is visible under a lighting condition and invisible under another lighting condition, where the carrier is a plane element. The safety element has a main part (3a) and an extension part (3b) visible when the parts are subjected to the conditions, where the conditions are light illuminated through the carrier and ambient light. One of the parts is located at a covering layer (8) of the element and visible for an observer when the part is in front of a light source. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a data carrier. |
